Oliver Walter UKCC coach, Dressage Coach and Listed Judge.
Oliver Walter is a dedicated and accomplished dressage coach and rider, recognised for his expertise in training horses to the Prix St. Georges (PSG) level. A British Horse Society Accredited Professional Coach and qualified UKCC Coach, Oliver holds a Level 3 qualification in Advanced Horse Care Management, blending professional qualifications with hands-on experience.
With a passion for equestrian sports, he has successfully produced teams of show jumping horses that have reached international competition standards. Oliver is experienced in running equestrian events, including show jumping and dressage, in both the UK and Bahrain. He has trained riders to advanced levels and played a significant role in developing dressage in Bahrain, where he is currently running an equestrian centre, contributing to the growth of the sport in the region.
In his younger years, Oliver gained valuable experience breaking in and developing young horses alongside a good friend and colleague, Peter Verbakel, at his breeding farm in Eindhoven. He has also managed Cobham Manor Equestrian Centre, one of the largest equestrian centres in Kent, showcasing his commitment to the equestrian community.
Oliver had the pleasure of gaining work experience with Paralympic trainer Michel Assouline, which enriched his knowledge and skills in adaptive riding and training. Previously, he contributed to the Essex police mounted unit, where he helped select and train police horses. Throughout his career, he has trained with renowned Olympic-level trainers, including Gareth Hughes, Isabelle Wessel, Alan François, and Leanne Wall GB Young Rider Team selector. His diverse experiences and extensive knowledge contribute to his reputation as a respected figure in the equestrian community, where he continues to inspire and develop the next generation of riders and horses.
Oliver currently manages Twin Palms Equestrian Centre in Bahrain and took on the management of the Centre in 2020 and faced many challenge, especially considering pandemic at the time. His ability to successfully navigate restrictions and develop the centre speaks to his resilience and adaptability. By managing a busy livery yard and riding school, along with organising regular dressage and showjumping events, he has created a vibrant equestrian community. His dedication not only enhances the centre’s reputation but also promotes the sport within the Kingdon.
